This website (usedmercedesparts.co.za) is operated on behalf of Mercedes Spares Scrap Yard, the "Responsible Party" under POPIA. The yard is located at 67 Tulip Road, R114 Monavoni, Centurion, Gauteng, 0183.

When you submit a parts quote on this site we collect the fields you fill in:

• Name
• Mobile / WhatsApp number
• Email address (optional)
• Vehicle information — chassis code and (optional) VIN
• The part you are looking for, written in your own words
• Your nearest city (so we can quote freight)

We also collect basic technical information automatically when you visit any page — IP address, browser type, referring page, and pages viewed — for security and analytics. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

We use the information for one purpose only: to source the Mercedes part you requested and quote you back with availability, condition and a delivered price. Specifically:

• We look up your VIN / chassis to confirm fitment of the parts we have in stock.
• We contact you via the channel you specified (phone / email / WhatsApp) with the quote response.
• If you accept the quote, we use your contact details to arrange payment and courier delivery.
• We may follow up once if you don't respond, in case the first reply was missed.

Quote enquiries are stored in our internal lead-management system (LeadsManager) hosted in South Africa via Supabase. Access is restricted to named members of the parts team. The same enquiry is BCC'd to up to three internal email addresses for redundancy — these inboxes are private and not shared with any third party.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to any third party. We only share the minimum information required to fulfil your order:

• Couriers (Courier Guy, Aramex, DSV) — recipient name, phone and delivery address only, for the duration of the shipment.
• Payment processors if you pay by card or instant EFT — handled directly between you and the processor (Yoco, Peach Payments or similar). We only see the authorisation result, not your card details.
• Government authorities only where legally required (SARS for tax invoices, the Information Regulator in the event of a data breach notification).

Quote enquiries are kept for 3 years from the date of submission, after which they are deleted. Tax invoices are kept for 5 years as required by SARS. Server access logs are kept for 90 days.

You have the right to:

• Be told what personal information we hold about you (a "subject access request").
• Correct any information that is inaccurate.
• Request that we delete your information, subject to our legal retention obligations (tax records cannot be deleted before the SARS retention period expires).
• Object to our processing of your information and withdraw consent at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator if you believe your rights have been violated.

We use first-party cookies for basic site functionality (remembering your form progress, for example). We use Vercel Analytics in production for aggregated, anonymous traffic statistics — no personally identifying information is sent.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or remarketing pixels at this time.

The site is served over HTTPS. Quote submissions travel encrypted to our LeadsManager backend. Internal access is authenticated and audit-logged. We follow industry-standard practices to protect against unauthorised access — but no system is 100% breach-proof; if a breach occurs we will notify you and the Information Regulator without delay as required by POPIA.

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will reflect the date of the most recent update. Continued use of the site after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
