
OM6542.0L Diesel
The OM654 is Mercedes-Benz's all-aluminium 2.0L 4-cylinder diesel introduced in 2016, the first member of the modular FAME diesel family and the successor to the OM651. It uses stepped-recess pistons, NANOSLIDE cylinder bore coating, and integrated SCR/AdBlue and DPF in a single near-engine module. Significantly more efficient and lighter than the OM651, but the integrated emissions hardware (AdBlue injector, NOx sensors) is the headline reliability concern.
