The M273 is the V8 sibling of the M272, produced from 2005 to 2013 in 4.7L and 5.5L variants. It shares the same idler/sprocket wear issue as its V6 cousin, but is otherwise a robust luxury V8 that powered the bulk of S-Class, GL-Class, SL-Class and G-Class non-AMG models for the better part of a decade.
