The M260 is Mercedes-Benz's transverse-mounted 4-cylinder petrol engine for the front-wheel-drive compact platform (MFA2), introduced in 2018 to replace the M270. Available in 1.3L (M282, Renault-Mercedes co-development), 1.6L, and 2.0L forms with single-turbo configuration. Powers the W177 A-Class, W247 B-Class, CLA, GLA and GLB. The 1.3L M282 wet-belt design requires strict adherence to oil and belt change intervals to avoid catastrophic failure.
